Welcome to Nyabiheke Refugee Camp Portal
Nyabiheke refugee camp it is located in Gatsibo District, Gatsibo Sector and
Nyabicwamba Cell. The camp was officially established in April 2005.
By that time the
camp was accommodating 4,500 Congolese.
However, another wave of conflicts in DRC in
2007 led to the arrival of another refugee contingent.
Currently, about 12,000 – 13,500 refugees are accommodated in Nyabiheke refugee camp, based on the most recent 2025 data.
We decided to develop this system in order to improve the service delivery hospital services, food related services where refugee will request token while being at home and prepare his/her self based on status of queue
Promotes Fairness and Order: Ensures that all refugees receive services in a transparent and orderly manner. Prevents conflicts, favoritism, and overcrowding by organizing people according to a clear system (e.g.first-come, first-served or priority-based).
Reduces Waiting Time and Congestion:
A structured queue system helps manage large crowds efficiently, reducing long waiting lines and overcrowding at service points such as food distribution, healthcare, or registration centers.
Improves Safety and Security:
Prevents chaos, pushing, or violence that can occur when resources are scarce.
Helps maintain safe distances and better crowd control, which is especially important during health crises or emergencies.
